Co-op Press Fund Recording Assistance Grant
The Co-op Press Fund was established in 2000 as a means of encouraging performers to experience the excitement of collaborating with composer Sy Brandon. To date, over fifty grants have been awarded.

Purposes of the Recording Grant:
To assist talented performers located within the United States in producing a professional quality CD for their own professional use and for commercial distribution through storefront, web-based and download retail outlets.

To promote the CD by submitting it for review in professional journals.

To enable the performers to have a new composition written for them by
Sy Brandon for the recording if desired.

To enable the performer to earn money on sales of the CD and Download Cards at their performances, through their website, and to family and friends.

Benefits for the Performer(s):
The Co-op Press Fund will assume the costs of layout, reproduction, licensing, marketing and distribution.

The Co-op Press Fund will cover the cost of Sy Brandon's commission fee if a new work is to be written.

The Co-op Press Fund will contribute $250 to $1000 towards recording costs for recording a composition of Sy Brandon that needs a professional recording from
this list. The amount awarded is determined by the length of the composition and the number of musicians needed. Contributions are paid once the CD goes to the manufacturer.

Co-op Press will provide the performers with copies of music by Sy Brandon to be included on the CD free of charge.

The artist will receive 25 copies of the CD free. If additional copies are desired, they can be purchased at $5 each from Emeritus Recordings.

The artist will receive 100
CDBaby Download Cards for the album free.

While no royalties will be paid to the performers for CD sales at the Co-op Press web site and through its distribution partners, the performer keeps the entire selling price of the CD and Download Cards that he/she sells to audience members, through the performers website, and to family and friends.
